Christmas Concert Sat 16th December 2023

Doors: 2pm
Concert starts: 215pm (music should be finished by 3)
*Please book tickets for your children so we know how many people to expect/how many kiddy refreshments to order!

Come and join us for a joyful afternoon of festive community singing! Rosie Sleightholme’s three Natural Voice community choirs – People of NoteFolks & Bairns, and The Rising Sun Singers – will come together for a joint Christmas concert on Saturday 16th December at 2pm. We’ll be at St Paul’s Church, Southville, Bristol, and will sing an eclectic mix of festive and non-festive songs that the choirs have learnt this term.

After the performance we’ll be selling mulled wine, non alcoholic drinks and juices for the kids. We’ll also have a charity cake sale of mince pies and cakes made by choir members. Proceeds from the cake sale will go to the BS3 Community Foodbank at St Paul’s Church.
PLEASE BRING CASH, WITH SMALL CHANGE! There will be a card reader, but cash will mean we can serve multiple people at once.
There will also be Christmas cards for sale by local illustrator Sophie Swindells (Just Like Sophie), whose cards you may have seen in the Windmill Hill City Farm shop, Better Food and other shops. The cards are printed locally on 100% recycled card and are packed with colourful envelopes.

Professional shots of our Harbour Fest gig

Thanks to wonderful photographer James Barke (Ali, leader of Gasworks’ partner) for taking these professional shots of People of Note performing at our joint gig with Gasworks at the Harbour Festival a few weeks ago. It’s nice to have some proper pics!

See our Gallery for the pics.

We had a great Harbour Festival gig!

We had a wonderful joint gig with our friends Gasworks Choir at Bristol Harbour Festival on Sunday, which culminated in a mass sing of Harbour by Anna Tabbush Music. We were joined for the song by members of the BYOB Choir, and Rosie’s daytime choirs – Folks & Bairns – Parent and Baby Choir and The Rising Sun Singers – and raised a fantastic £423 for local refugee charity Aid Box Community.
Thanks to all who came and donated to this great local charity.
And thanks to Mike Golesworthy for the video 🙂

Bristol Harbour Festival Gig 17th July

We’re looking forward to performing today at Bristol Harbour Festival today and will be opening the Cirque de Bijou stage on Queen Square, at 12pm. Rosie invited our friends Gasworks Choir to sing alongside us, and we will do 2 songs each, before joining together for a mass sing of Anna Tabbush‘s beautiful song ‘Harbour’, about welcoming refugees into our country.
We will send round a collection for Aidbox Community while we sing. Based on Gloucester Road, Bristol, this wonderful local charity provides support, supplies and sanctuary for refugees and people seeking asylum in Bristol.
Rosie’s daytime choirs, The Rising Sun Singers and Folks & Bairns Parent and Baby Choir, will join in, as well as the wonderful BYOB Choir.
We hope to raise lots of money!
